Domenech, Oriol

Graduated in veterinary medicine in 1996 from the “Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona”, Spain. From 1996 to 1997 worked as a general practitioner in Mediterrani Veterinaris, Reus, Spain. From 1997 to 1999 performed the three international cardiology courses of  ESAVS (European School for Advanced Veterinary Studies). From 1998 to 2000 worked in Survet Diagonal clinic in Barcelona, Spain, working with special interest in emergency medicine and cardiology. From 2001 to 2002 performed an ECVIM-CA internship training program in Clinica Veterinaria Gran Sasso, Milan, Italy, followed by the residency program of ECVIM-CA (cardiology) in the same clinic obtaining the ECVIM-CA (cardiology) diploma in 2006.

He obtained the Master Science degree title in 2008 at the University of Murcia, Spain with the topic of diagnostic imaging in cardiology focused on the transesophageal echocardiography.

From 2006 to 2011 he worked as a specialist in cardiology in Clinica Veterinaria Gran Sasso in Milan, Italy and Survet Diagonal in Barcelona, Spain. Since 2011 he is the chief of the cardiology and interventional cardiology department at the “Anicura Istituto Veterinario di Novara”, Italy and since 2020 is also the chief of the cardiology department at the “Anicura Clinica Veterinaria CMV di Varese”, Italy. From 2014 he is the director of a ECVIM-CA (cardiology) residency program at the “Anicura Istituto Veterinario di Novara”, Italy.  He has been a member of the examination committee and a member of the credential’s committee of the ECVIM-CA for the specialty of cardiology. He is author and co-author of multiple international and national articles, book chapters and studies presented in national and international congresses. He has been and is director, scientific coordinator and lecturer of numerous courses, congresses  and Master Science degree programs in Italy as well as in multiple international courses and congresses in cardiology. His areas of interest are transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, interventional cardiology and congenital heart diseases.
