Simon qualified from Cambridge and after 2 years in mixed practice joined a small animal practice and developed a passion for cardiology taking the certificate in 1990. In 2005 he moved to Liverpool University as lecturer becoming an ECVIM diplomate in 2009 and moved to private referral practice. In 2014 he moved to Florida as associate professor in cardiology. He is now service chief for cardiology and a medical director of the hospital. He continues to research in degenerative valve disease and advanced interventional techniques. Having been involved in the UK CKCS club for over 20 years, he is now involved in the USA CKCS clubs.
