Simon graduated from the University of Bristol in 2004 having undertaken an intercalated BSc in Veterinary Pathology at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) in 2002. Following a PhD in canine virology he completed a residency in anatomic pathology at RVC with attainment of Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath) in 2010 and became Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) in 2012. Simon is currently Associate Professor of Anatomic Pathology at the RVC and Head of Pathology. Research and diagnostic interests include canine and feline gastrointestinal pathology and oncology, ocular pathology and canine infectious respiratory disease. Simon has co-authored over 50 publications and contributed to book chapters in these areas. In his ‘spare time’ Simon Heads up the Anatomic Pathology residency program at the RVC, is President of the British Society of Veterinary Pathology (BSVP) and small animal subject matter expert on the ACVP Examination Committee 2018. When not working Simon loves foreign travel combined with his passion for birdwatching.
