Prof. Dr. Heiko Nathues is a Diplomate of the European College of Porcine Health Management (ECPHM) by exam, and currently the Past-President of this college. In recent years, he was member and subsequently chair of the examination committee of the ECPHM. Thereafter, he became Secretary and later the Vice-President and President of the ECPHM.
Since April 2017, Prof. Nathues was representing the ECPHM in the EBVS, and from 2017 until 2019 he was the chair of the EBVS working group “Data Sharing & Best Practice”. He became Secretary of the EBVS in 2019, Vice-President in 2021, and President in 2023. Since the beginning of his duties in EBVS, Prof. Nathues was promoting inclusiveness and flexibility to specialise in veterinary medicine. He believes that elasticity and open mindset are prerequisites to satisfy our clients’ expectations and to further improve animal health, both, in companions and livestock.
