Dr Alex Lee, MRCP MBChB, is a specialist trainee in medical oncology at the Royal Marsden Hospital, London. He graduated from medical school in Edinburgh in 2008, having also undertaken an intercalated degree in experimental pathology. Following foundation training at University Hospital of South Manchester and The Christie, he moved to London for core medical training at UCLH and then began his specialist training within the Royal Marsden in 2012. In 2015, Alex joined the Molecular and Systems Oncology team, led by Dr Paul Huang at the Institute of Cancer Research, to undertake a PhD fellowship project investigating for novel prognostic and predictive biomarkers in soft tissue sarcoma. Alex has held a trainee position on the NCRI Sarcoma Clinical Studies Group and won the Sarcoma UK Early Career Researcher competition in 2017. Alex will complete his specialist training in autumn 2019 – his goal is to continue his clinical and research interest in sarcomas into his consultant practice.
