Kent, Michael
Michael Kent is a Professor of Radiation Oncology in the Department of Surgical and Radiological Sciences at the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine. Michael graduated from veterinary school at UC Davis in 1997. He then went on to do a rotating small animal internship at the University of Pennsylvania. This was followed by a year in private practice in Pennsylvania before going on to do residencies in Medical and Radiation Oncology at UC Davis, where he also received his Master’s Degree in clinical research. In 2013 he became the Director of the Center for Companion Animal Health. He is also the program co-leader for the Comparative Oncology Program at the UC Davis Medical School’s NCI designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. He is an author on over 100 peer reviewed publications. Michael was on the RO exam committee for radiation oncology and then became examination director in 2011. During this time he regularly attended council meetings in this role as a non-voting member. He has also been active in other ACVR committees including the memoriam committee, two JTA committees for RO and the DEI task force and committee and worked on the RO meeting program committee in 2022.
