Guaraldi, Federica

Dr. Federica Guaraldi graduated cum laude in Medicine and Surgery in 2009 at University of Bologna, Italy. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Immunopathology at the Hypophysitis Center of the Johns Hopkins University in 2011. In 2010-2011 she also attended the Johns Hopkins Pituitary Center to improve clinical skills in management of hypothalamic-pituitary disorders. She obtained the Ph.D. degree in Medical Physiopathology in 2015, and the Fellowship degree in Endocrinology and Metabolic Disorders in 2017 at the University of Turin, Italy.
From 2011 to 2019 she participated to various international advanced training courses in neuroendocrinology and pediatric endocrinology. In 2021 she completed the 2nd level Master in Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes and Auxology at Tor Vergata University of Rome. From 2017 to 2020 she held a position of research associate with clinical activity in neuroendocrinology, and from 2020 to present she has been served as Medical Director of the Pituitary Unit, IRCCS Istituto delle Scienze Neurologiche di Bologna, Bologna, Italy.
She has been P.I. and co-investigator of single- and multicenter studies focusing on the definition of therapeutic outcomes and predictors, as well as the identification of immunological alterations/autoimmune disorders associated with hypothalamic-pituitary tumors. She has delivered oral and poster communications at national and international congresses and plenary lectures at prestigious European and US Universities. She has organized international events focusing on pituitary tumors. She authored about 130 MEDLINE-indexed publications. She is Editor in Chief of the journal ‘Frontiers of Hormone Research’ (Karger ed). She is member of prestigious national and international endocrine and pediatric societies. Since 2018, she has been supervisor of Ph.D. and M.D. thesis, and teaching assistant at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University of Bologna, Italy.
