Brian Gilger, DVM, DACVO, DABT is a Professor of Ophthalmology at NC State University in Raleigh, NC. Dr. Gilger is board certified in veterinary ophthalmology and toxicology. He is a gold fellow of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO). He has been recognized as a distinguished alumnus of The Ohio State University and Auburn University, was awarded the American Veterinary Medical Association Clinical Research Award, and the Zoetis Award for Excellence in Veterinary Research in 2021. He received his veterinary degree from The Ohio State University and his ophthalmology residency and graduate training at Auburn University. He has greater than 25 years experience in pre-clinical ocular drug development and ocular toxicology. Dr. Gilger’s research is focused on ocular immunology, uveitis, lysosomal storage disease of the cornea, and innovative therapies for ocular disease, including gene therapy.
