Instructions for abstract submission (read carefully and follow precisely!)
Abstracts must be submitted online via the abstract submission module.
Proofread your abstract carefully before submitting as it will be printed exactly as submitted. Abstracts do not need to be submitted on an official form, but must be submitted via the online module.
The abstract MUST not exceed 2,900 characters (including spaces) and not have less than 1,200 characters.
The format of the abstract is flexible, but should contain information on the aim of the work, methods, results and conclusions. A statement that “the results will be discussed” is not acceptable. Do not use subheadings (methods, results, etc.).
If experimental research was undertaken involving animals, the scientific committee requires approval from an ethics or welfare committee before the abstract can be accepted. Please submit this at the same time as submitting the abstract. If the required ethic approval is not submitted directly together with the abstract, your abstract will be rejected. In some circumstances, the scientific committee may subsequently ask for ethical approval for abstracts that it deems require it.
Tables, graphs and figures are NOT allowed!
Abstracts failing to meet these specified guidelines will not be accepted!
Research communications are automatically rejected without further scrutiny if they:
- Are not submitted online
- Are received after closing date (April 16, 2010)
- Have less than 1,200 characters
- Exceed 2,900 characters
- Do not fit into the specified space
- Are published or accepted elsewhere before April 16, 2009
- Are not written in scientific English
- Contain tables, graphs or figures
- Are not relevant to small animal internal medicine
- Are unethical
