‘’Lessons from the past, overview of the future’’

In Toulouse, the ESVE, besides the ESVE talks held during the ECVIM congress, also organises an ‘Endocrine Post Congress Day’ on Sunday 12th September. We hold this day every other year, in alternation with the Society of Comparative Endocrinology (SCE). We are deeply committed to allowing debate between the audience and the speakers. Therefore, much time has been allocated for these discussions. To open, ESVE have the immense honour of welcoming two eminent endocrinologists, Professor A. Carney and Professor A. Rijnberk, both of whom have influenced the history of human and veterinary endocrinology respectively, with their vision and work. Many other excellent speakers will complete the program (covering a variety of subjects from hyperaldosteronism, newer forms of Cushing’s, the central nervous system as a target for canine hypothyroidism, and pheochromocytoma’s).

The full program itinerary is available through the ESVE and ECVIM websites and registration is also possible through the ECVIM website and is free for ESVE and/or SCE members. As the number of registrants will be limited, early registration is recommended.

On the evening of Saturday 11th September, Dechra Veterinary Products will be hosting a dinner held in the breathtaking ‘Bemberg Foundation’. Located in a beautiful Renaissance building, the Foundation houses a splendid collection of paintings from The Renaissance through to work from the 19th century. A privatised tour of the building and it’s art collections will be available before dinner. All attendees of the post congress day are welcome to attend, but should register for this through the ECVIM website.

The organization of such an event which mixes culture, conviviality and scientific hot topics would not be possible without sponsorship. The ESVE board would like to give a warm thank for all the sponsors mentioned on the program page, starting with the main sponsor of ESVE, Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health, for their faithful support of the ‘Endocrine Post Congress Day’.
