Dr Claire Sharp is a senior lecturer in the College of Veterinary Medicine, School of Veterinary and Life Sciences, at Murdoch University in Perth, Australia.
Dr Sharp did her veterinary training at Murdoch, graduating with her BSc, BVMS(Hons), in 2002. After a few years in private general and emergency practice, Claire moved to the United States to pursue a Rotating Small Animal Medicine and Surgery Internship at Oklahoma State University (2004-2005), followed by a Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care Internship (2005-2006), Residency (2006-2009) and Masters degree at the University of Missouri.
Dr Sharp became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care and took a faculty position at the Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in North Grafton, Massachusetts where she worked from 2009-2015. Claire returned to Murdoch for an academic position in July 2015.
Dr Sharp’s clinical and research interests include the management of sepsis, respiratory distress, trauma, and gastric dilatation and volvulus amongst many other emergency and critical care diseases.
